To ensure food safety and quality, protect and promote the welfare of animals, promote the health and safety of farm workers, and support environmental management, the San Agustin dairy farmers underwent a two-day Good Animal Husbandry Practices (GAHP), Nov.10-11, 2022 in San Agustin, Isabela.

In partnership with the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office No. 2 (DA RFO  02), the IREAP Component of the  DA Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) Coordination Office 2  and Municipal Local Government Unit of San Agustin conducted the said activity that also aims to disseminate the importance of GAHP. 

DA RFO 02’s Technical Working Group includes Luzviminda C. Mecate, Agri ll and GAHP Focal Person, Dr. Christine V. Mamauag, Vet III, and Don don Adan S. Bait, Agri. I served as the resource persons.

This is in preparation for the certification of GAHP compliance and adoption practices in the operations of the dairy enterprise.
