Bohol inaugurates completed Php48M FMR
“We swear to love and uphold our obligations in ensuring the road is well maintained and taken care of,” says Brgy. Captain Rosita Canono of San Agustin.
Punong Barangays of the completed 5.98 kilometer San Agustin Canmaya Diot farm-to-market road (FMR) in Sagbayan, Bohol have pledged their oaths to help preserve the FMR following its ceremonial turn-over.
The P48 million FMR, which began its rehabilitation in September of 2015 and completed the following year has brought a reduction in travel time and provided stable linkage not only to farm products but also in the reach of extension services e.g. health care, better access to schools among others as transport methods have evolved.
During the inauguration ceremony, sets of maintenance tools were also handed over by the project contractor to the benefiting barangays who will have to continue with the road maintenance works.
“Congratulations to the Municipality of Sagbayan who have been a good partner in project implementation. This FMR will showcase all PRDP projects here in Bohol,” said Bohol Governor Edgardo Chatto.
Aside from encouraging the community to safeguard the FMR, Governor Chatto, also extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Department of Agriculture’s Philippine Rural Development Project and vowed to conscientiously follow guidelines required by the Department and the World Bank as partners in the financial institution.
A signing of the certification of turnover and acceptance from PRDP & Provincial Project Management and Implementing Unit to the Municipality of Sagbayan capped off the ceremonial turn-over of the PRDP project.
