MIMAROPA Updates Web-based M&E System
The Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project Regional Project Coordination Office (DA-PRDP RPCO) MIMAROPA’s Monitoring and Evaluation Unit, in collaboration with the I-PLAN Component, conducted a Regional LGU Module Encoding and Cleansing Workshop at Sequoia Hotel, Manila Bay, July 11-14, 2023.
During the four-day event, participants were able to refresh their skills in using the LGU Module of the web-based M&E System, input the actual data needed by the LGU Module, and learn how to update and monitor the interventions in the Commodity Investment Plans (CIPs) after the encoding session.
Aside from the actual encoding session, LGU encoders were able to raise their concerns about using web-based technology. The M&E Unit quickly addressed the concerns and announced that a new encoding system is being developed including a user management feature.
M&E Unit Head Arvin San Juan and Officer Jeffrey Dumandal from the National Project Coordination Office were also present at the event to delve into the further improvements of the Unit in the coming implementation of PRDP Scale-Up.
By the end of the event, more than 1,200 LGU Modules were uploaded and updated in the system. These LGU Modules contain possible projects for funding to support specific commodities. The LGU Module also supports the CIPs, which narrate strategic investments per product form along the value chain.
The event was closed with an agreement to continue the LGU Module Encoding and Cleansing every quarter to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the database. # (Danica A. Brutas, DA-PRDP MIMAROPA RPCO InfoACE Unit)
