1st RPCO2 I-REAP COORDINATION MEETING HELD
“Everybody deserves a fresh start. The strength of an organization is measured in volunteerism, self-sacrificing, persevering members. Our responsibility to an I-REAP subproject does not end after turn over,” DA-RFO2 Executive Director Narciso A. Edillo said in his speech today during the 1st Coordination Meeting for Dairy Group.

The first in the series, the Regional Project Coordination Office 2 (RPCO 2) I-REAP Component headed by Ms. Rosario Paccarangan has invited Mr. Leo A. Abaya, National Dairy Authority (NDA) representative, Ms. Rovina Pinera, OIC Director of the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC), Ms. Carla Anyayahan, and Mr. Romulo A. Salas, also from PCC.
Meanwhile, RTD Rose Mary A. Aquino said that the novelty of the enterprise is meeting its objectives drafted in the business plan. She said the infrastructures like the farm to market roads are all support to the enterprise.
“Let us attain the project objectives of the I-REAP enterprise. It will engage in the production of marketable dairy through investments in strategic segments of priority commodity value chains prioritized under the Regional Agricultural Fisheries and Modernization Plans and the Provincial Commodity Investment Plans,” she said.
The meeting was attended by members of the Provincial Project Management and Implementing Units (PPMIUs) of Cagayan and Isabela; Municipal Government of Mallig headed by Mayor Jose P. Calderon, and officers and members of the Board of Directors of Integrated Farmers Cooperative and Malaya Development Cooperative, proponent groups.
Other coordination meetings are scheduled on October 7, 2020 for Aromatic and Pigmented Rice; Mungbean and Tilapia; October 8, 2020 for Peanut and Beef Cattle, and October 9, 2020 for coffee, banana, mandarin, Tomato and Onion.
The series of meetings will provide avenue for the proponent groups and the PPMIU to thresh out issues regarding the enterprises and to enhance their capability on production and marketing and to share their methodologies and best practices. (Ferdinand N Cortez, RPCO2 InfoACE Unit)
