It is a double celebration for the Municipality of Malitbog, Bukidnon as the Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project 10 (DA PRDP 10) officially hands in two Farm to Market Road (FMR) subprojects to the LGU on October 30, 2019.

In his message, Malitbog Mayor Osmundo N. Dela Rosa shared his vision for Malitbog.

“Just like other people’s American Dream, I have my own Malitbog Dream, and that is to give the people, especially the farmers a life they deserve and part of that dream is to have better road access which is one of the ingredients of development. Farmers will not experience a better life if there is no better road. The road helps in reducing post-harvest losses and maintaining the quality of their produce that can demand a better price and can be sold faster. Which is I am very thankful to DA-PRDP 10 for giving us these road projects.”

Agriculture-10 OIC-Regional Director and DA-PRDP 10 Project Director Carlene C. Collado, CPA congratulated and lauded the LGU for their support to PRDP.

“I must say, Malitbog is a very active municipality. In region 10, Malitbog holds the record with most number of FMRs. Imagine the assistance you have given to your people for concreting these roads; transportation is easier, post-harvest losses is lesser, and the lot value is higher. This is not just a legacy of Mayor Dela Rosa nor the officials; this is a legacy of Malitbog”. Collado also added that PRDP will still accept proposals from Malitbog if they still plan to add more FMRs.

The Rehabilitation and Concreting of Junction Tomigbong – Larapan FMR Phase 1 has a length of 1.7 km and a total contract cost of Php 21,777,154.69 while the Rehabilitation and Concreting of Junction Tomigbong – Larapan FMR Phase 2 has a length of 3.08 km with a total contract cost of Php 42,536,852.43. Both FMRs will serve the residents especially the farmers of coconut, rice, corn, and banana.

Also present in the said turn-over ceremony is Vice Mayor Cindy E. Aritrangco, SB Members, officials of the benefiting barangays, and PRDP 10 staff. (Cyrus Seraspe)
