WB and NPCO signify no objection to seven farm to market road project s in Visayas Region

ILOILO CITY – The World Bank and the National Project Coordination Office had signified “No Objection” to some Seven (7) proposed farm to market road projects under the infrastructure development component of Visayas cluster regions.

In an official communication Atty. Emerson U. Palad, Undersecretary for Operations and Philippine Rural Development Project disclosed “ the submission of feasibility studies with safeguards compliance, detailed engineering design, program of works and bidding documents who have undergone from a thorough evaluation were found to be in order”.

The proposed infrastructure projects include the concreting of Hipona – Canapian- Quinabonglan Farm to Market Road in Pontevedra town of Capiz province with an estimated cost of P181,059, 000; rehabilitation of Sitio Magtu-od – Sitio Vergara FMR in Toboso, Negros Occidental at P47,232,000 ; rehabilitation of Barangay Caduhaan – Sitio Aluyan FMR in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental at P134, 758,000; Improvement of Maytigbao-Balogo FMR of Balangkayan , Eastern Samar at P35, 342,000; Rehabilitation and concreting of Barangay Lapgap – Guindalitan FMR in Maydolong, Eastern Samar at P15,944,000; Improvement and concreting of Sitio Dau to Barangay San Eduardo FMR in Sta. Rita Samar province at P20,273,000 and Improvement and concreting of Barangay Cogon to Barangay Mabini FMR in Basey , Samar at P77, 621,000 respectively.

In a year-end PRDP –PSO Visayas Assessment Monday December 15, 2014 Regional Executive Director Larry P. Nacionales said, once the FMR project will be fully implemented, the said infrastructure projects will generate employment , improve socio-economic activities , lower transport cost and increase income among the recipient communities.
