Subic, Zambales – The Regional Project Coordination Office 3 (RPCO 3) of the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) Luzon A Cluster conducted a Results-Based Monitoring and Evaluation (RBME) Retooling Training last March 16-17 at the Venezia Hotel, in order to equip the implementing units of Central Luzon with an updated knowledge regarding the restructured monitoring system and to have a better scheme in determining the status of the subprojects within the region.

The training, attended by the different Provincial Project Management Implementing Units (PPMIU) of Central Luzon, was designed to regulate the submission of forms and documents necessary for the implementation and monitoring of the subprojects.

During the event, RPCO3 Alternate Focal Person Gil David explained that the said training is very timely, considering the fact that there have been a lot of changes with regards to the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system of PRDP. He also reiterated that the prompt submission of data capture forms (DCFs) should be one of the top priorities of the PPMIUs in order to avoid delay and to maximize the given timeline for the subprojects.

Aside from giving updates regarding the updated M&E system, a hands-on training was also conducted during the event. Project Support Office MIS Officer Lowell Rebillaco and RPCO3 M&E Officer June Lacasandile facilitated the hands-on training, particularly in the filling-up of DCFs for the I-BUILD and I-REAP Components. The filled-up DCFs were then submitted to RPCO3, as the training output of the PPMIUs.

The RBME Retooling Training was done to have a better way in gauging the attainment of the Project Development Objectives, such as having a 5% increase in annual real farm income, 7% increase in annual market output, 20% increase in number of farmers with improved access to the services of the Department of Agriculture, and a 30% increase in incomes of targeted project beneficiaries.
