She emphasized to the farmers, traders, agriculturists and Provincial Project Monitoring and Implementing Units (PPMIUs) from Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte, the need for a heedful study on the said industries for the projects efficient implementation.

The consultant also presented a preliminary list of constraints and opportunities she gathered during a survey among farmers, traders and processors of peanut and onion in the Ilocos Region.

Boquiren, together with Luzon A Project Support Office (PSO) IPLAN component head Ariel Briones, regards the listing of all constraints and opportunities for the peanut and onion commodities a very crucial aspect of VCA.

PPMIUs were later tasked to come up with a draft Priority Commodity Investment (PCIP) plan on peanut and onion based on the identified constraints and opportunities. (Ilocos InfoACE)
