RPCO 3 I-BUILD strategizes smooth implementation of infrastructure subprojects, I-REAP civil works
To harmonize the accomplishment targets for the ongoing infrastructure subprojects, the Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) Central Luzon and the Provincial/City/Municipal Project Management and Implementation Units convened for a coordination meeting on September 15-16, 2022 in Angeles City, Pampanga.
This activity was led by DA-PRDP’s infrastructure development component, I-BUILD, to coordinate among partner local government units and agencies the ideal targets for the subprojects’ implementation. The activity also included a workshop to determine and to formulate catch-up plans to achieve these accomplishments on time.
Regional Project Coordination Office 3 I-BUILD Component Head Engr. Elmer Tubig shared that the infrastructure subprojects funded by the PRDP contribute to improving the links from production areas to markets which results to the efficiency of transporting agricultural products. Furthermore, these subprojects also help lower post-harvest losses through efficient support facilities. Tubig added the five factors to consider for the efficient implementation of PRDP subprojects: commitment, assessment, plan, execution, and evaluation.
At the end of the activity, the participants presented their output and I-BUILD staff recommended how to improve their catch-up plans and have them signed it as a way to express their commitment on the agreed upon accomplishments. (Ram Bill Bautista, InfoACE, RPCO 3)
