Effective August 2017, Director Lucrecio R. Alviar Jr., CESO III will lead the Regional Project Coordination Office 1 (RPCO1). Director Alviar is appointed as the new Regional Executive Director (RED) of the Department of Agriculture (DA) Region 1. His appointment was celebrated during a Ceremonial Turn Over held at the DARFO 1 Roof Deck on August 8, 2017.

Director Alviar succeeded Director Narciso A. Edillo who is assigned as the new Regional Executive Director of DA Region 2. Director Alviar and Director Edillo swapped responsibilities for Region 1 and Region II. From 2011 to July 2017, Dir. Alviar had been the Regional Executive Director of Region II, the Cagayan Valley Region.

Director Alviar is identified to have led the Cagayan Valley Region into becoming the top performing region in terms of financial obligation in the Department of Agriculture. The DA Region 1, as well as the RPCO 1, is excited to see the improvements and developments his new leadership will bring.

Director Alviar stated, however, that the improvement and development in the Region will require the cooperation of the management and employees.

The turn over ceremony was attended by former Under Secretary Claron R. Alcantara and former DA Region 1 REDs Valentino Perdido and Atty. Cipriano Santiago. Department heads and staffs from Region II also attended and bid good bye to their leader for the past six years.

Director Alviar will lead DA Region 1 and RPCO 1 together with Regional Technical Directors Erlinda Manipon and Dr. Gilbert Rabara. ### (Dessa Estrada, RPCO 1 InfoACE Unit)
