RPAB MIMAROPA approves 1st sub-project for PRDP
On February 4, 2014, the DA-MIMAROPA hosted the 1st MIMAROPA Regional Program Advisory Board (RPAB) Business Meeting at the Fersal Hotel in Diliman, Quezon City. The meeting was presided by DA-MIMAROPA Regional Executive Director, Atty. Cipriano G. Santiago who is the Chairman of RPAB. Present during the RPAB meeting were Directors/Representatives from the members of the Board – NEDA, DSWD, DILG, DPWH, DAR, NCIP and BFAR. Present also during the meeting were representatives of the Oriental Mindoro Local Government Unit, Oriental Mindoro Federation of Farmers Association (OMFFA), Naujan Farmers Association (NaFa) and representatives from the PRDP National Program Coordination Office and the Program Support Office – Luzon B (PSO Luzon B).
The RPAB was hosted for the Board to review and approve the 1st proposed subprojects of the Program – construction of Bagong Silang – Macatoc Farm to Market Roads in Victoria, establishment of trading posts in Cayanan, Calapan City and buying station in Victoria. All these sub projects are in support to the endeavour of the Program and the LGU to revive and strengthen the calamansi industry in the province.
The different scientific and technical tools used to determine the viability and suitability of the sub-project was presented to the Board. Ms. Ofelia Ayson (RPCO I-Plan) presented the PRDP Overview, Engr. Elmer Castillo (RPCO I-BUILD) presented the Feasibility and Detailed Engineering Design of the proposed Farm to Market Roads and Mr. Ramon Policarpio (RPCO I-REAP) presented the Value Chain Analysis of the calamansi.
After thorough discussion with the Board on their queries regarding the proposed sub-project, upon the motion of Director Homer Tobias of the Department of Agrarian Reform and duly seconded by Ms. Cecilia Lopez, OIC Regional Director of National Economic Development Authority, the Board had approved the sub-project, subject to compliance of additional documentary requirements. #
