The Rehabilitation of the Tubigay-Baracbac-Nagculluoban FMR Subproject

Ilocos Sur’s first IBUILD subproject is the Rehabilitation of the Tubigay-Baracbac-Nagculluoban Farm to Market Road (FMR). The subproject has a total length of 6.4 kilometers, covering the Barangays of Tubigay, Baracbac, and Nagculluoban in Sinait, Ilocos Sur.

The existing Tubigay-Baracbac-Nagculluoban road is passable only to small vehicles like carts pulled by animals, tricycle, and jeepneys. It is mostly made up of gravel and earth with some concreted parts. The rehabilitation of the FMR aims to increase mobility and reduce travel time from 60 minutes to 20 minutes, cut transportation cost by 60%, increase farmer’s income by 20% and provide employment for 140 skilled and non-skilled workers during construction.

The total subproject cost is P 63,749,752.81, wherein 80% will come from the World Bank loan proceeds or P 50,999,802.25 and 10% will each be contributed by the Department of Agriculture and the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur or P 6,374,975.28 each. (InfoACE-Ilocos)
