A management meeting was held at the PRDP Mindanao Project Support Office to expedite the implementation of the “Concreting of Crossing Blocon, Dalumay-Glamang farm-to-market road” in the Municipality of Magsaysay, Davao del Sur on March 19, 2024.

Spanning 9.47 kilometers, this FMR project funded under Second Additional financing and European Union Co-Financing Grant (AF2-EU) is target for completion by December 31, 2024. However, despite progress to its implementation, challenges, particularly adverse weather conditions, have impeded project completion.

The meeting was initiated to provide an avenue for the Project Support Office, RPCO XI, MLGU of Magsaysay, and project contractor TKS Builders & Supplies to address issues and devise strategies to put the project on track for completion.

Mayor Ronie L. Sarande and Vice Mayor Arthur D. Davin of Magsaysay actively participated in the meeting alongside TKS Project Manager Engr. Michael Te, RPCO 11’s Deputy Project Director Marila Corpuz, and PSO Mindanao’s Deputy Project Director Noel T. Provido.

Deputy Project Director Marila Corpuz underscored the project’s significance for Davao del Sur’s overall performance and its potential impact on securing future PRDP funding.

RPCO XI’s I-Build Component Head, Marc Adrian Baddongon, assured continued support until project completion, committing weekly site visits for close monitoring.

“We are partners here, and we wanted to complete this project for our constituents particularly our farmer beneficiaries within the road influence area. Let’s work together so we can attain our target completion this year,” said Engr. Baddongon.

Engr. Ryan Cordova provided a status report on the subproject, outlining updated targets for the remaining months of 2024. TKS Project Manager Engr. Te committed to adhering to these new targets and leveraging favorable conditions to accelerate road concreting efforts.

Deputy Project Director Noel T. Provido expressed gratitude to all participants, particularly the Municipal Local Government of Magsaysay and the contractor.

Also in attendance were Magsaysay Municipal Project Management and Implementing Unit’s Engr. Haide R. Dela Torre, Magsaysay Municipal Agriculturist Helen Carampatana, PSO Mindanao’s I-Build Component Head Engr. Ma. Fe Gabunales, and Compliance Officer Atty. Ralph Monday. (Joy M. Montecalvo, PSO Min)
