PRE-CONSTRUCTION HELD FOR 2ND FMR OF BULACAN

San Ildefonso, BULACAN –A Pre-Construction Conference was conducted on October 23 and October 28, 2019 to discuss the mechanism and fundamentals on the implementation of the subproject – Improvement of Sumandig-Bubulong Malake Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) held separately at Bubulong Malake Chapel and Provincial Engineering Office (PEO), here.

The two-day “pre-con” was spearheaded by the Philippine Rural Development Project – Project Support Office (PRDP – PSO) led by I-BUILD Rural Infrastructure Engineer Shiedel Delicano together with the Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO 3) I-BUILD Rural Infrastructure Engineer Lester Bacual, Social and Environmental Safeguards (SES) Associate Prince Roy Cruz, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Associate Alvin Manalang, Finance Analyst Kathleen Catacutan and Geomapping and Governance (GGU) Officer Maurice Pineda.

According to Engr. Bacual, the pre-con also aims to impart familiarity on the implementation phase of the subproject underlining the contract documents similarly with PRDP’s processing of disbursement, billing guidelines and quality control to project implementers and stakeholders.

Engr. Bacual also stated that the FMR covers 2.93-kilometer in length traversing the barangays of Sumandig and Bubulong Malake which will result in reducing travel time in transporting agricultural goods from farms to market here.

With this, it will likewise increase the production of rice and lowland vegetables specifically ampalaya which is the prime commodity of the area, Engr. Bacual added.

Funded under the PRDP, the subproject amounts to a total of P50 million and will benefit farmers on both barangays.

It is expected to commence this November of 2019.
