The Department of Agriculture’s Philippine Rural Development Project – PSO Visayas and the Province of Negros Occidental through Deputy Project Director Engr. Jose Albert Barrogo and Gov. Jose V. Lacson respectively, hands over checks worth Php7.4 million to Kalibutan Society, Inc. for the Muscovado Production and Marketing Enterprise.

Present to receive the checks for the proponent group is Mr. Antonio Castillo, President and Ms. Arlene G. Dela Rosa, Project Manager of Kalibutan Society, Inc.

These checks are part of the first tranche release of the PRDP intended for the purchase of machineries and equipment of the Muscovado Production and Marketing Enterprise in Brgy. Oringao, Kabankalan City.

The enterprise aims to increase the muscovado production of Kalibutan Society, Inc. to serve the demand of the target market by procuring new milling equipment and establishment of building requirement to produce quality products.

The total subproject cost amounts to Php24,486,208,65.
