PRDP Mindanao shows project gains during Mindanao filmfest
Davao City — DA’s Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) Mindano Project Support Office joined the recently concluded Mindanao Film Festival showcasing audio-visual presentations (AVPs) on the Project’s gains and emerging benefits in communities all around Mindanao.
These benefits were gathered by PRDP from the completed and ongoing infrastructure projects as well as enterprise subprojects that were given approval by the Project and shown in 5-minute AVPs.
The 1.5-hour screening also included AVPs on success stories of the Mindanao Rural Development Program (MRDP), the poverty-alleviation program which preceded PRDP and also implemented by DA, with funding support from the World Bank and local government units.
Also screened were DA 13 short films made by high school students in Caraga region, which featured agriculture-themed stories.
The full-house screening at the Gaisano Mall Cinema 6 was attended by students, mostly coming from the University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP).
The Mindanao Film Fest is an annual competition film festival, which features new films from all over Mindanao – mostly short films – and is the longest-running regional film festival in the Philippines.
