To guarantee smooth implementation of the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) in Bicol, the Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO) V Geomapping and Governance Unit (GGU) and Monitoring and Evaluation (M & E) Unit conducted a Workshop on the Application of Geotagging Tool and Re-Visiting the Web Management Information System (MIS) on July 18, 2016 at the PRDP-Bicol office in Pili, Camarines Sur.

The activity aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of the PRDP-Bicol project hired staff in using and applying the Applied Geotagging Technology (AGT) and Web-MIS, which are considered critical tools in the Project implementation.

He also assisted the PRDP-Bicol staff in installing the softwares and familiarization of its graphic user interface (GUI) and configurations. In addition, the team conducted actual field geotagging works as part of the training. They also applied data uploading and information management, basic google Earth application, basic Picasa web hosting and administration, and adding spatial boundaries.

Meanwhile , M & E Officer Rhodelia S. Remot provided updates and facilitated the re-visiting of the PRDP MIS, viewable at prdp.da.gov.ph, PRDP’s official website. As a transparency measure, the MIS will be employed to measure, track and report physical and financial progress of all PRDP sub-projects along with their interim result. She announced that starting July 19, 2016, all M & E reports will be uploaded and viewed real-time via the Web-MIS. This is to provide the Project management with a feedback mechanism necessary for planning and decision making.
