PRDP Bicol prepares for RAEB in Libmanan, Camarines Sur
To guarantee impact of the infrastructure project even after its construction, the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) in Bicol will conduct the Rapid Appraisal of Emerging Benefits (RAEB) for I-BUILD subprojects to one of PRDP’s Farm to Market Road (FMR) in the province of Camarines Sur.
RAEB is an intermediate evaluation activity focused in determining the success of the PRDP subprojects and how it is aligned to the Project Development Objectives. It aims to validate to the extent to which investment will be translated to outcomes envisioned for the intended beneficiaries as well as assess the sustainability, hindrances and help determine the substantial solution and practices.
The RAEB team will specifically focus on the streams of benefits indicated in the feasibility study leading to the Project Development Objectives, Thematic Areas, Catalytic Impact, Proper attribution of reported changes, Sustainability Efforts and Challenges and the Good Practices and Lessons Learned by the project beneficiaries.
Thus, the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit of the Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO) 5 gathered all the units and components involved in the execution of RAEB, together with the members of the Provincial Project Management and Implementing Unit (PPMIU) in Camarines Sur for orientation and assigning of tasks.
As the pioneer province in Bicol to adopt RAEB, the team anticipated problems that can be encountered during the activity and created a strategy on how to make things easier for the geotagging and surveys.
The RAEB will be conducted in San Isidro to Pag-Oring Nuevo, Libmanan, Camarines Sur. It is a six-kilometer FMR with a total subproject cost of P44.2 million. This FMR now provides access road that links economic growth points of the 14 barangays to the national highway that can improve the agri-economic and social condition of the people. ### (Michelle Angela G.
