PhP315.5 million worth of upcoming FMRs in Oriental Mindoro undergo Technical Reviews for quality and safeness
The Regional Project Advisory Board (RPAB)-approved Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) subprojects in the municipalities of Mansalay, Victoria, and Socorro, Oriental Mindoro underwent Subproject Appraisal (SPAR) and Joint Technical Reviews (JTR) for quality and safeness from August 24-27, 2021.
The Concreting of Barangay Teresita to Barangay Waygan to Barngay. Balugo FMR in the Municipality of Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro was approved by the RPAB on June 28, with a total length of 6.54 kilometers and a total project cost of PhP150 million.
On the other hand, the Concreting of Barangay Merit – Concepcion, Victoria Barangay Ma. Concepcion – Happy Valley – Bugtong na Tuog, Socorro FMR was approved by the RPAB on January 30, 2020. This FMR encompasses two barangays in the municipality of Victoria and three barangays in the municipality of Socorro, with a total length of 10.73 kilometers and total cost of PhP165.5 million.
The SPAR is conducted to determine if the proposed structures in the Detailed Engineering Drawings (DED) are appropriate for the actual subproject site. During the conduct of SPAR, appropriateness of FMR elements from the suitability of slope protection to the relevance of road signs are evaluated. The exact location of existing and proposed structures, natural waterways, and other physical features are also recorded.
Additionally, the JTR is conducted to review the documents based on the SPAR results, and to discuss the comments from the National Project Coordination Office (NPCO), Project Support Office (PSO), and Regional Project Coordination Offices (RPCOs) with the implementing unit. These documents include I-BUILD, Social Environmental Safeguards, Econ-related documents.
Both subprojects aim to improve the quality of life of farmers and the community living within the subprojects’ influence area by providing a safe, quality, and accessible road.
Present in the said activities are representatives from the PSO South Luzon Cluster and the RPCO MIMAROPA, headed by Deputy Project Director Engineer Annielyn Del Rosario, and I-BUILD Component Head Engr.
