P58.3-M FMR OPENS IN AURORA
San Luis, AURORA – The P58.3 million Nonong Sr.- L.Pimentel Farm to Market Road (FMR) funded by the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) opens to the public leading better mobility and access for residents and farmers of this town.
Just recently, the Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO 3) together with the Project Support Office (PSO), Provincial Project Management Implementing Unit (PPMIU) of Aurora Resident Engineer Melvin Dulay and ZF Construction conducted the Pre-Final Inspection of the subproject.
In a brief interview, I-BUILD Rural Infrastructure Engineer Lester Bacual confirmed that the FMR will be fully completed before the end of January and almost immediately will be officially open to the public.
Engr. Bacual also revealed that the 4.9-kilometer FMR has achieved 98.5% as of January 9, 2020 on its physical accomplishment that is deemed ‘substantially completed.’
Envisioning a path where farmers can enjoy reduce travel time in transporting of agricultural products particularly coconuts and is expected to increase job opportunities are the goals of PRDP, he added.
The Barangay Nonong Sr. and L. Pimentel has a total land area of 1,063.25 hectares occupying a large tract of land planted with coconut trees, rice and other vegetables likewise the culturing of tilapia on nearby fishponds.
The development of the FMR is a great deal to farm-beneficiaries here as it will significantly improve the transfer of goods and services in the province’s far-flung areas.
