OSCARIZ-NAGBACALAN FMR IN RAMON NOW IN ITS 9TH PROGRESS BILLING

Date Published: August 19, 2020

Climbing 66.71% of cumulative physical accomplishment this July, Oscariz-Nagbacalan FMR in Ramon, Isabela is now in its 9th progress billing, with billable 6. 97 percent amounting to 8.8 million pesos.

The joint inspectorate team composed of SES, GGU and I-BUILD from the Regional Project Coordination Office 2 (RPCO 2) and Project Support Office (PSO) inspected the 2. 5 kilometer- stretch of Portland Concrete Cement Pavement, (PCCP) and parapet subjected to billing.

The team will meanwhile stay in Ramon to review other proposed subprojects to be funded by PRDP.

Engr. Norman Romero of RPCO 2 said the result of the inspection leapfrogged last billing’s cumulative accomplishment, slowed down by the lockdown caused by COVID 19.

The FMR, which amounts to 127 million pesos will not only benefit Ramon, Isabela, the Tilapia Capital and the home of the mighty Magat Dam but it will also serve as an access road to the agricultural activities of the neighboring municipalities of San Mateo and Alicia.

With its rehabilitation, agricultural products and inputs will be easier to transport. Further, from Bantug, Alicia, and from San Marcos, San Mateo; travel time will already be shortened using this road towards Santiago City, to Manila and other trading posts.

The FMR also provides easier access to barangays Purok Ni Bulan and Villa Beltran where fishponds are located. Moreover, vast rice fields are also within the road influence area (RIA) of the FMR.

The Municipal Local Government Unit (MLGU) of Ramon, Isabela, provided its own counterpart in the funding of the subproject for the implementation of its Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP)-funded FMR. (Ferdinand N Cortez, RPCO2 InfoACE Unit)
