Brgy. Kiambing in Maitum town, Sarangani Province is blessed with both agricultural and fishery resources. But for a long time, the unaddressed problem of poor road condition hinders the farmers to get full income of their labor.

Barangay Captain Luisa P. Doctor was a witness to this predicament as her family experienced the same.

“Before, farmers and fisherfolk had hard time because of the horrible road condition,” Doctor said.

She said to bring the products to the market farmers used animal-drawn carts or carry the load over their heads just for them to sell their harvest or catch.

With the construction of the concreted road, farmers were encouraged to buy multicabs  or tricycle making transport of produce much easier and faster.
