M&E LEVERAGES MIS, RAISES ONLINE PLATFORMS
The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Unit of the I-SUPPORT Unit has been leveraging the management information systems (MIS) to run, order, oversee, organize and manage data, status and heaps of information rendered for various subprojects of the Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP).
Even before COVID-19, the DA-PRDP has been maximizing the use of technology through the MIS being implemented across the regions in order to gauge performance and efficiently manage data.
The pandemic has raised awareness to fully adopting online platforms in managing schemes and strategies that are helpful in the future.
According to Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO 3) M&E Unit Head June H. Lacansadile, it is among the advantages of having all the required data stored and secured in one information system.
“Substantial amount of data is stored in the MIS and easier for technical staff to access,” Lacansandile added.
He also quipped that the use of MIS has enabled prompt evaluation and improved performance.
The M&E Unit continues to coordinate with I-BUILD, I-REAP, I-PLAN and the Procurement Unit to update status and facilitates actions and accomplishments similarly raising awareness of issues and concerns involving numerous subprojects.
With the supervision of the M&E Unit, each project status and figures with regards to disbursements and obligations are up to date in the MIS.
This feat is considered among the good practices of the M&E Unit that can be emulated by local government units and partner agencies as part of the innovations pioneered by the DA-PRDP as an effective mechanism to fast-track project implementation and provide immediate response.
Fully integrated, information and figures uploaded in the MIS reflects the whole performance of the DA-PRDP. (MA. REINA LEN G. LUNA, RPCO3 InfoACE)
