SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union— The Provincial Project Monitoring and Implementing Unit (PPMIU)  here and the Province of La Union Mango Industry Association, Incorporated (PLUMIA, Inc.) had finalized the Green Carabao Mango Production and Marketing Enterprise business plan during a group review held at Ocean Restaurant in Miramonte on September 10-19.

The regional review enjoined the PPMIU and enterprise representatives who discussed the sensitivity analysis of the financial plan, as well as the 50-50 sharing scheme of PLUMIA and its farmer members.

PLUMIA, Inc. chairman Pedro Corpuz listed the paybacks such as medical, social and livelihood benefits the members of the association can avail through the enterprise’s profit.

PLUMIA also proposed to cautiously use green labeled chemicals in response with the raised concern regarding the enterprise’s use of chemical to fertilize mango trees and induce flowers.

The total enterprise cost remains P14, 982, 508.00, where P6, 249, 526. 55 amounts for the enterprise’s packing house.

Meanwhile, the business plan is now on the National Project Coordination Office (NPCO) for evaluation and release of No Objection Letter (NOL). (Ilocos InfoACE)
