The Regional Project Advisory Board 2 (RPAB 2) chaired by Regional Executive Director Narciso A. Edillo approved for endorsement to the Project Support Office (PSO) Digumased-Ayod farm-to-market road (FMR) with bridge proposed by the Local Government Unit of Dinapigue, Isabela in its 26th Business Meeting.

Mayor Reynaldo Derije presented to the board the subproject profile of the 8.34 kilometer-FMR with bridges which amounts to 209 million pesos. The proposed FMR traverses the barangays of Ayod, Bucal Norte, Bucal Sur and Digumased.

“The enterprise to be supported by the subproject is the Aromatic and Pigmented Upland Rice Production and Marketing Enterprise in the municipality of Dinapigue,” Derije said. “Aromatic and pigmented rice is the priority commodity of our municipality and it is included in the Provincial Commodity Investment Plan of Isabela.”

The FMR, Derije explained, would ease the hardships of farmers engaged in upland farming in transporting their products. The bridge will provide  vehicles easier access to the production areas when the Digumased creek swells during the rainy season.

The board also approved the Coffee Production and Marketing Enterprise proposed by Tiblac-Langak Farmers Association Inc (TLFAI) of Ambaguio, Nueva Vizcaya.

Mayor Arnold Dinungon accompanied the officers and members of the TLFAI during the deliberation. The association will be deriving its income from the sale of the green coffee beans and the price mark-up per kilo as a result of direct marketing efforts.

The coffee enterprise worth 13 million pesos aims to buy ripe Robusta coffee cherries harvested in the Municipality of Ambaguio from coffee growers  and process them into green coffee beans and package these as the final product.

“Part of the strategy included in the business plan is to formalize supply agreement  with members and non-members to maintain quality and fair price and forge marketing agreement with buyers,” Mr. Nilo Aquino, Business Development Officer of the Regional Project Coordination Office 2 (RPCO 2) said. (Ferdinand N Cortez, RPCO2 InfoACE Unit)
