As part of its Operation and Maintenance Audit System (OMAS), the Department of Agriculture- Regional Operations and Maintenance Audit Team (ROMAT) 6 conducted inspections to 2 DA-PRDP infrastructure subproject namely:the 9.9-kilometer Tinocuan-Maribuyong FMR in Dueñas, Iloilo and 28-kilometer Imbang Grande- Tagubong- Gemumua Agahon- Agtabo FMR in Passi City on May 26, 2022.

Utilizing the OMAS, the members of the ROMAT focused on identifying the strategies and initiatives employed by the Local Government Unit (LGU) in order to maintain the subprojects’ quality and condition, ensuring progress to farmers and residents.

The OMAS is one of the monitoring tools of DA-PRDP that seeks to identify strategies implemented by the LGUs benefiting from PRDP subprojects in order to maintain its quality and condition. It is conducted every six months after the completion of the infrastructure subprojects. Moreover, based on the DA-PRDP’s guidelines, as stipulated in the Implementing Management Agreement (IMA) between the DA-PRDP and the LGU, the LGU is responsible for the operations and maintenance of completed DA-PRDP-funded subprojects for at least 10 years.(April Grace Padilla, RPCO 6, Writer)
