DA-PRDP strengthens partnership with PLGU
In the past couple of months, the Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO) BARMM and its Local Government Unit (LGU) partners have undergone several changes brought about by their transition of governance into the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao or BARMM.
In order to set everyone’s targets, a series of coordination meetings have been conducted by the RPCO BARMM with the Project Support Office Mindanao, and its LGU partners.
Recently, a DA-PRDP team led a coordination meeting with the PLGU and PPMIU of Maguindanao to discuss matters pertaining to project fast-tracking including several issues and concerns of some subprojects being implemented in the Province.
PPMIU head Nulfarid S. Ampatuan in his message emphasized the importance of the RPCO and the PSO support to the PPMIU.
“We need the support of the RPCO and PSO because we want to strengthen the DA operation of the PPMIU, since the full implementation of this project also relies on us because we are the one facilitating it. At the end of the day, this is all our project,” said Ampatuan.
Ampatuan took an active role in raising the issues and concerns of the province on behalf of its current Governor Bai Mariam Sangki-Mangudadatu. The province wanted to ensure that all of the projects from PRDP will be implemented properly because it is for the welfare of the people of Maguindanao.
Maguindanao currently has 9 enterprise subprojects on “Goat Multiplication, Fattening, and Marketing” worth P20 million.Five (5) of these subprojects are already on-going implementation with the remaining four (4) still under Business Plan preparation.
For the Infrastructure development subprojects, Maguindanao has a total of 13 subprojects composed of 11 farm-to-market roads (FMRs) worth P621 million; one (1) FMR with bridge worth P199 million; and one (1) potable water supply worth P4.5 million. Of these 13 IBUILD SPs, two (2) are already completed while the rest are still in process and haven’t started the construction stage.
Through these coordination meetings better strategic plans were crafted on how to address problems in the project implementation.
Part of the coordination meetings was the orientation of new key players from the province regarding PRDP and its various components, as well as the existing PRDP tools, and the Memorandum of Agreement, Implementation Management Agreement, Social and Environmental Safeguard, and GGU.
This activity was headed by the IPLAN unit with participants including representatives from PSO and RPCO IBUILD, IREAP, IPLAN, M&E, GGU, SES, Procurement, PLGU, and the PPMIU. (JOY M. MONTECALVO/PSO Mindanao)
