DA-PRDP Scale-Up coming to CALABARZON in 2024
The Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project Scale-Up (DA-PRDP Scale-Up) is set to be implemented in the CALABARZON region in 2024 after being approved by the CALABARZON Regional Development Council of the National Economic Development Authority.
The DA-PRDP Scale-Up of the DA and the World Bank is the expanded version of the DA-PRDP that aims to improve the efficiency of the food supply chain, ensure the availability of affordable and quality food in the market, and increase the income of farmers and fisherfolks. Its implementation will run from 2024 to 2029 – funding and implementing infrastructure and enterprise subprojects in rural communities.
In preparation for the project, the DA-PRDP Regional Project Coordination Office CALABARZON, led by Engr. Marcos Aves, Sr. is now inspecting 11 localities that have submitted proposals for infrastructure subprojects.
Meanwhile, the RPCO is also continuously orienting LGUs, groups, and organizations on the project and its requirements that are interested in submitting proposals.
“Hinihikayat namin ang mga LGUs at mga samahan ng mga magsasaka na magpasa pa ng proposals tungo sa mas pinalakas na sektor ng agrikultura sa CALABARZON. Sisiguraduhin ng RPCO 4A na magiging mabilis at masigasig ang aming aksyon at suporta upang matulungang maisakatuparan ang mga iminungkahing proyekto,” shared PD Aves.
PD Aves also thanked the CALABARZON RDC for their support. He also extended his gratitude to the Provincial Development Council of CALABARZON and the Sectoral Committee on Economic Development that endorsed the DA-PRDP Scale-Up to the RDC in the past few months.
