The Department of Agriculture Philippine Rural Development Project Regional Project Coordination Office No. 2 (DA PRDP RPCO 2) hosted the first-ever business conference for beef cattle in the Cagayan Valley, at the Zen Hotel, Villassis, Santiago City, April 12, 2024.
The activity aims to facilitate collaboration between private agribusiness entities, farmer cooperatives and associations, provincial and local government units, national government agencies, state colleges, and universities.
This is also to boost investments and enhance deal flow, particularly in the beef cattle industry in Cagayan Valley, leading to improved operational efficiency, productive partnerships, direct market connections, and increased profitability for producer groups.
In her message, Rosario Paccarangan, IREAP component head, said that “as we gather here at Bizcon for beef cattle, we have a one-of-a-kind chance to change the way our business works. Our priority interventions show the way to a future where our beef cattle business does well, where sustainability and technological progress go hand in hand, and where poverty reduction and growth for everyone are not just goals but real things that happen.”
“Our agricultural and fishing industries are rapidly changing right now, and today is a critical moment in that change. We all want to meet the challenges of our time and get past them with creativity, teamwork, and unwavering resolve. The Philippine Rural Development Project Scale Up is a great example of this,” she added, representing Regional Executive and Project Director Rose Mary G. Aquino during the event.
Deputy Project Director for Northern Luzon, Elma Mananes, also presented the DA PRDP achievements and briefly discussed the project’s overview with the attendees.
This event is made possible with the collaboration between the National Project Coordination Office, Project Support Office North Luzon, Regional Project Coordination Office 2, and different units and components of the DA PRDP.
