DA-PRDP I-PLAN Component conducts assessment, planning workshop with PPMIUs

Providing platform to review the progress of ongoing projects, assess physical and financial accomplishments, and identify challenges faced by local government units (LGUs) and other stakeholders, the IPLAN Component of the DA-PRDP RPCO I recently held an assessment and planning workshop on October 9-10, 2024 in Baguio City.

Ms. Milagros Dela Rosa, Planning Specialist presented to the participants the status of Physical and Financial Accomplishments vis-à-vis the 2024 Work and Financial Plan (WFP) of the IPLAN component including accomplished I-PLAN activities in 2024 and 2025 deliverables. These updates provided a clearer direction for future actions, ensuring a seamless transition as the PRDP moves toward its scale-up phase.

The IPLAN component also shared critical information, such as the PRDP Additional Financing and Scale-Up Action Plan, which guides LGUs in planning future interventions.
Updates on the status of the IBUILD and IREAP subprojects in Region I were also presented by Engr. Amie Tacla, PRDP RPCO I Rural Infrastructure Engineer (RIE) for Infra projects, and Ms. Rhoda Galvan, IREAP Component head and OIC- Chief of the Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) of DA-RFO I for the enterprise subprojects.

By presenting updates and gathering feedback, the activity helped align efforts with the overall goals of improving agricultural productivity and rural livelihoods. Said updates provided valuable insights into the physical and financial accomplishments of ongoing subprojects, highlighting the progress made in delivering essential interventions to the agri-fishery sector.

As part of the activity, a brief workshop was conducted enabling the representatives from PPMIUs to tackle various concerns affecting the implementation of their respective subprojects, stressing the importance of collaboration with RPCO I to address these challenges. Discussions centered on how to further enhance the execution of PRDP initiatives, ensuring they align with the needs of farmers and fishers in the Ilocos Region.
