DA-PRDP CLOSELY MONITORS CONSTRUCTION OF DIRITA – SAN AGUSTIN FMR

Iba, ZAMBALES – The construction of the P102 million Dirita-San Agustin Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) is being closely monitored by the Department of Agriculture- Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP).

Just recently, the Philippine Rural Development Project Office (RPCO 3) led by I-BUILD Rural Infrastructure Engineer Romel Tiangco together with Associate Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer Alvin Mariano, Associate Social and Environmental Safeguards (SES) Officer Prince Roy Cruz and the Provincial Project Management and Implementing Unit (PPMIU) of Zambales conducted a monitoring of the subproject.

In a short interview, Engr. Tiangco disclosed that the FMR spans a length of 10.2 kilometers and has attained 4.36% on its physical accomplishment as of February 7, 2020.

On-going activities are laying and spreading of subbase course materials, subgrade preparation, clearing and grubbing which involves removal and disposal of all trees, stumps, logs, shrubs, and surface litter within the area.

Also, provision of employment to at least 58 unskilled workers and around 44 qualified skilled workers in the barangays during the construction of the project is among the objectives of DA-PRDP.

Meanwhile, Mariano emphasized that the monitoring aims to check on the progress of implementation and to determine whether or not the intended objectives have been met.

The DA-PRDP continuous to gauge progress of every subproject through monitoring and joint inspection to established schedules and indicators of success. (Ma. Reina Len Luna, RPCO3 InfoACE)
