Solana, Cagayan — After earning approval from the Regional Project Advisory Board last October 2022, the Cagayan Seed Producers Multi-purpose Cooperative (CSPMC) and Department of Agriculture Philippine Rural Development Project (DA PRDP) held a groundbreaking ceremony on the civil works of the Aromatic and Pigmented Rice Production and Marketing Enterprise on April 24, 2023, Villa Salud, Gaddu, Solana, Cagayan.

Dr. Rose Mary G. Aquino, Deputy Project Director, DA PRDP Coordination Office 2, spearheaded the groundbreaking to spur economic development among members and the community. 

Dumon Mabborang, CSPMC Manager, said that with this enterprise, CSPMC aims to promote and market the unique varieties of aromatic and pigmented rice produced by the cooperative, providing new opportunities for the local farmers and boosting the economy of the region. The groundbreaking ceremony marked a milestone for CSPMC, and the community eagerly awaits the project’s completion.

The subproject has a total cost of PHP 45 493, 030.91, and PHP 23 332 000 is for the civil works of the enterprise funded under the DA PRDP. (Marky Gallibu, RPCO2 InfoACE)
