Central Luzon RPAB approves three more I-REAP Subprojects for 2015
Three I-REAP component proposed subprojects in Central Luzon, with a total project cost of P28,795,449.37, were approved last June 11 at the Oasis Hotel in Angeles City, Pampanga during the conduct of the 3rd Regional Project Advisory Board (RPAB) Meeting on the deliberation of enterprise development subprojects for 2015.
Through its I-REAP component, the World Bank-funded Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) engages different capable proponent groups of the region in the production of profit-making surplus through investments in strategic segments of priority commodity value chains prioritized under the Regional Agriculture and Fishery Modernization Plan and the Provincial Commodity Investment Plan.
The three approved subprojects are as follows.
Since January of this year, the Central Luzon RPAB has approved a total of 11 subprojects, four of which are infrastructure development (I-BUILD) subprojects and seven are enterprise development (I-REAP) subprojects, all amounting to P447, 980, 615. Funding for the enterprise subprojects is in accordance with the financing mix of 80% grant from the World Bank loan proceeds, Government of the Philippines (GOP) and Provincial Local Government Units (PLGUs) and 20% from the Proponent Group equity. For the I-BUILD component, 60% will come from loan proceeds, 20% from the GOP and the remaining 20% from LGU equity. (Mark Erron H. San Mateo, InfoACE-RPCO 3)
