Iloilo City – 7 Farm to Market Road (FMR) Subprojects (SP) worth Php 604,132,079.18 was approved by Regional Project Advisory Board (RPAB) of Region 6 during the review on May 8, 2014.  These FMRs are under the PRDP I-Build Component of RPCO 6.

Three FMR SPs are located in the province of Negros Occidental:  The Rehabilitation of Gomez-Zamora FMR worth Php 44,902,407.34 in Pontevedra, the Rehabilitation of Hinicayan-Violeta FMR in Silay City worth Php 123,824,946.62 and the Rehabilitation of Crossing Martinez-Sto. Intaplan FMR in Sagay City woth Php 39,045,434.79.  These FMR has the length of 3.26 km, 10.108 km and 2.5 km respectively.

The other three FMR SPs are located in the province of Iloilo:  The Rehabilitation 7.88 km Parara-Jamog FMR in Tigbauan worth Php 77,870,264.09, the Rehabilitation of 10.289 km Poblacion-Tacuyong Norte FMR in Leon worth Php 114,746,836.85, and the Rehabilitation of 2.555 km Gines-Inagdangan Norte Fmr in Zarraga worth 30,552,110.22.

Another FMR SP that was approved by RPAB was the Rehabilitation and Improvement of the 12.74 km Banga-Libacao Road with Bridges worth 173,190,079.27 in the province of Aklan.  The bridges that connected the road from the municipalities of Banga and Libacao, Aklan was destroyed by the Typhoon Frank with the storm signal no. 3 on June 2008, and furthermore these municipalities  were stricken again by another super tyhoon, Yolanda with a storm signal no. 4 on November 2013.

Dir. Roy M. Abaya, OIC Reg. Executive Director of the Department of Agriculture emphasize during the review that, the proponent must clearly show the link between the FMR and its enterprise component during the SP presentation for the appreciation of the RPAB.

The 7 SPs were reviewed thoroughly and approved unanimously by the RPAB with the condition that the proponent will include the suggestions and comments made.   The RPAB also commended that RPCO 6, headed by Dir. Joyce S. Wendam, RTD of DA and focal person of RPCO 6, and the PPMIU did a good job in preparing the proponent for the review. (RSSII PRDPRPCO6 InfoACE)
