ILOILO CITY – As of March 31, 2015, The Regional Project Advisory Board (RPAB) of RPCO 6 endorsed and approved 17 Small Livelihood Subprojects (SLP) worth 15,086,617.00 Php.

RPAB Review of the SLPs for Typhoon Yolanda

Five (5) SLPs were approved came from the Province of Antique: Rehabilitation of Abaca Nursery Affected by Typhoon Yolanda and Sustainable Swine Production as an Alternative Livelihood for the Farmer/Fisherfolks Affected by Typhoon Yolanda from Barbasa, Antique; Cattle Fattening Livelihood Project and Sebaste Lambaklad Fishing Livelihood Project from Sebaste, Antique; and Lambaklad Livelihood Project from Libertad, Antique.
One (1) from the Province of Capiz: Enterprising Corn-Based Crop-Animal Production form Cuartero, Capiz.
Five (5) coming from the Province of Iloilo: Production and Marketing of Vermicompost form Bingawan, Iloilo; Feedlot Cattle Fattening from Dueñas, Iloilo; Piglet Production and Marketing Project from Janiuay, Iloilo; and Goat Production for Sustainable Livelihood from San Rafael,Iloilo.
And Six (6) SLPs from the Province of Negros Occidental: Swine Breeding Enterprise and Swine Fattening from Cadiz City, Neg. Occ; Rehabilitation of Rearing House and Cocoon Production from Calatrava, Neg. Occ; Fish Coral Rehabilitation and Fish Trading Support from Escalante, Neg. Occ; Blue Swimming Crab Rehabilitation and Fish Trading Support; and Swine Breeding Enterprise from Manapla, Neg. Occ.

Various Areas in Region 6 that was hit by Typhoon Yolanda

Region 6 was hit by tropical typhoon Yolanda signal no. 4 on November 2013. Agricultural and fishery sectors of the region sustained damage throughout the region during the wake of the typhoon. The PRDP will help rehabilitate those affected sectors to reestablish their livelihood through the I-REAP’s SLP.

Though these SLPs were approved and endorsed, they must integrate and incorporate the suggestions of the RPAB during the review.
