
RPAB approves P1.4 B infra projects for Region IV-A
Seventeen (17)infrastructure projectproposals from Region IV-A worth P1.4 billion are just a few steps closer torealizationafter these were approved by the Regional Project Advisory Board (RPAB) for funding under the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) of the Department of Agriculture (DA).
This was the result of the feasibility study and detailed engineering design presentation of 14 Municipal Project Management and Implementing Units (MPMIU) of Quezon, Laguna and Batangason April 14, 2015 at the DA-RFO 4A Building, Diliman, Quezon City.
RPAB is an inter-agency multi-disciplinary team that reviews and approves infrastructure and enterprise subprojects for funding endorsed by Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO) under the PRDP. It is composed of representatives from the Department of Science and Technology, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Agrarian Reform, and Department of Public Works and Highways among other.
Majority of the proposed sub-projects deliberated were the construction and expansion of strategically selected farm-to-market roads (FMR) particularly in Quezon Province, while two sub-projects are for construction of potable water supply (PWS) system in Luisiana and Cavinti, Laguna.
Macalelon, Quezon Vice Mayor Artemio Mamburao explained that the proposed FMRwould help decrease transportation time of our products andhauling costs, as well as reduce significant amount of farming and post-harvest losses.
He added that the town can open to more agricultural endeavors if there are good quality roads that would increase accessibility.
The activity was participated by the MPMIUs of: Luisiana and Cavinti, Laguna; San Antonio, Tiaong, Candelaria, Buenavista, Tagkawayan, San Francisco, San Andres, Sampaloc, San Narciso, Macalelon and Lucena City, Quezon; and Lobo, Batangas.(Radel Llagas, RPCO IV-A InfoACE)

Vice-Mayor Artemio Mamburao of Macalelon, Quezon presents the Nicolas – Malabahay FMRsub-project to the advisory board. He explained that the FMRis aimed not only at improving their agricultural productivity but also to attract other economic opportunities for their municipality.
