The Improvement of Limood, Balinciagao Sur-Magsilay-Amdalao Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) in Pasil, Kalinga is set to commence as the Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) Scale-Up granted the green light for contract awarding to the winning bidder.

With the issuance of the No Objection Letter (NOL) 2, the subproject is officially authorized to proceed, with Omengan Construction and Development Corporation securing the contract valued at Php195.72 million.

This subproject, proposed to support the local heirloom rice, banana and coffee industries, will span 6.40 kilometers.  Once completed, it is expected to benefit 958 households, covering a total of 4,501 individuals (2,331 male and 2,170 female). The FMR will directly connect barangays in its influence area to the Tabuk–Balbalan-Abra national road and the Calanan-Mountain Province national road.

As part of the DA-PRDP implementation process, a pre-construction conference will soon be conducted to discuss specific implementation guidelines and processes including the requirements for disbursement, among others.

This FMR subproject is the second infrastructure project in Kalinga under the DA-PRDP Scale-Up, complementing the ongoing improvement of the Pinukpuk Junction-Pakawit-Binansagan FMR in Pinukpuk. It aims to boost agricultural productivity and strengthen local economies by facilitating better farm-to-market access. ###
