TAILORING AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT
Effective agri-fishery development projects require a harmonious alignment between local-level plans and national strategies. This synergy ensures that resources are allocated efficiently, policies are implemented coherently, and the unique needs of local communities are addressed.
Today (September 4), the DA Philippine Rural Development Project-Davao Region (DA-PRDP XI) through its IPLAN Component has conducted a workshop on Regional Perspective in Investment Planning with the participants from various local government units in Davao region and national government agencies.
In his message, DA-PRDP XI Project Director Noel T. Provido highlighted the need for collaboration, away from the usual parochial approach in project management especially in threshing-out plans and identifying clear-cut strategies.
“To come up with a robust investment portfolio, we need diverse ideas that come from different perspectives. That is the very reason why we convene here today,” Provido said.
He added that under the PRDP Scale-up, interventions would involve implementing more comprehensive development projects, with an emphasis on enhancing the involvement of farmers and fisherfolk groups in a cluster while ensuring active collaboration with private enterprises.
Part of the three-day workshop includes the identification of priority constraints and solutions prioritization, partnerships, leveraging, and advocacy, and a presentation on Results-Based Monitoring and Evaluation. | via Celso Vergara, InfoAce Davao
