WB-CSO Participatory visit in Oriental Mindoro

The Department of Agriculture-Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) partners with various Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in a bid to boost government transparency in implementing and monitoring projects aimed to alleviate poverty in the country’s rural areas. As part of the initiative, representatives from World Bank, CSOs, and PRDP conducted a participatory visit in one of the PRDP’s pilot provinces, Oriental Mindoro which included a training on geo-tagging to equip the volunteers the basic knowledge on monitoring using the tool.
Among the CSO attendees are: Ateneo School of Government (ASOG), Mindoro State College of Agriculture and Technology (MinSCAT), National Citizens’ Movement for Free Elections (NAMFREL), Partnership of Philippines Support Service Agencies (PHILSSA), National Conference of Small Farmers and Fishers (PAKISAMA), and Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers.
