Before 2023 comes to an end, the Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project Regional Project Coordination Office CALABARZON (DA-PRDP 4A) assessed and reflected on its accomplishments and activities this year.
The infrastructure component reported a total of 28 approved subprojects costing Php 2.66 B. Meanwhile, the enterprise component also has a total of 28 approved subprojects costing Php 334.35 M. Currently, completed subprojects in both components are undergoing annual Operations and Maintenance Audits to ensure that the subprojects are properly maintained and continuously benefiting target beneficiaries.
The planning component reported a total of 15 approved Value Chain Analyses and 5 provincial commodity investment plans. Out of these, non-PRDP investments worth Php 6.54 B were derived from various agencies and institutions. The Department of Agriculture ranks as the top value chain enabler with a total investment of Php 5.50 B. Laguna has the highest number of non-PRDP investments out of the five provinces in CALABARZON.
For the DA-PRDP Scale-Up, a total of 23 infrastructure and four enterprise subprojects are pipelined in the CALABARZON region. Last October, an infrastructure subproject was already approved for funding by the Regional Project Advisory Board. The very first DA-PRDP Business Conference for enterprise subprojects was also conducted in the region last November with the World Bank and entities involved in the CALABARZON agri-fisheries sector.
“Ipagpatuloy natin ang ating pagtutulungan kasama ang ating LGUs at proponent groups upang masigurado ang maayos at epektibong pagpa-plano at implementasyon ng ating projects. Sa pagbubukas ng DA-PRDP Scale-Up, mas paghusayan at paigtingin pa natin ang ating efforts upang makapag-iwan tayo ng mas malaking impact sa ating agriculture and fisheries sector,” shared DA-PRDP Deputy Project Director Engr. Redelliza Gruezo. #
