INAUGURATION OF WATERFALL-OSMEÑA FARM TO MARKET ROAD

The Department of Agriculture Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) together with the Regional Project Coordination Office XI (RPCO XI), and Provincial Government of Davao del Sur officially inaugaurates today, April 14, 2023 the Rehabilitation of Waterfall-Osmeña Farm to Market road with Pre-sressed Concrete Girder Bridge in Davao del Sur.
This agri-infra subproject is composed of Package 1 worth P132-M measuring 7.56 km which covers barangays of Waterfall, Luparan and Labon and for Package 2 worth P117-M measuring 7.091 km which covers barangays of Lapla and Osmeña located in Sulop, Davao del Sur.
The rehabilitation of Waterfalls-Osmeña farm to market road with PSCG Bridge is an existing provincial road traversing the five barangays of Municipality of Sulop, Davao del Sur. The road is a sole access of the residents of the other six interior barangays of the Municipality.
This farm to market subproject worth P250-M now benefits 25 covered barangays with a total of 2,260 households and a population of more than 8,000 residents.
The agri-infra project aims to reduce hauling cost of commodities, reduce travel time, reduce transport losses, increase traffic count, increase agricultural land area for banana production, and generate employment with the presence of the project.
The realization of the project shall increase income through the improved road and provide better access for development and enhancement of the whole value chain of the commodity from input provision, farming, processing and marketing.
