| The Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) Regional Project Coordination Office XIII, through its Social and Environmental Safeguards (SES) unit, conducted a Training on Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation held at Marihatag Tree Park, Surigao del Sur from November 30 – December 2, 2022.

Participants included staff from the Provincial Project Management and Implementing Unit (PPMIU), Municipal Project Management and Implementing Unit (MPMIU) and Project Support Offices of the PRDP.

The three-day training included sessions on climate change adaptation and mitigation, climate variability, hydro-meteorological hazards and weather systems, climate-smart agriculture, disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation, and the SES toolkit, including identifying hazards through online tools.

Following the conclusion of the event, it is hoped that participants use the technical knowledge gained from the training to design and implement their own climate change mainstreaming and safeguard systems in their own operations.
