Date Published: February 7, 2022

NUEVA ECIJA – The Department of Agriculture of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) conducted a series of business planning and workshop to cooperatives here held separately in Palayan City and Talavera on January 18-21, 2022.

The Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO 3) I-REAP Component spearheaded the four-day business planning and workshop to the three cooperatives – Katipunan ng mga Samahang Magsisibuyas ng Nueva Ecija (KASAMNE), Valle Multipurpose Cooperative and the Bantug Agricultural Multi-Purpose Cooperative (BAMC).

The activity aims to assist the proponent groups in the development of business plans to carefully implement strategies on marketing, operations, finance, sustainability, and inclusivity.

The three cooperatives are hopeful to acquire projects from the DA-PRDP that will address the difficulty caused by insufficient cold storage, especially after harvesting to preserve the quality of onions for a longer period of time.

Officers from the RPCO 3 I-BUILD, I-PLAN, and I-SUPPORT presented the guidelines and requirements that are equally essential in the development of business plans.

Planning is the foundation for every business that aims to define strategy, discern critical factors, and keep track of the essential aspects to achieve success.

The DA-PRDP through the I-REAP Component continues to facilitate business planning and workshop to improve enterprise management, allocate resources strategically, and increase the learning experiences which will give a competitive advantage to each cooperative.
