NUEVA ECIJA – The Department of Agriculture Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) in Central Luzon conducted validation and proponent group consultation on January 11, 2022, to the selected proponent groups (PG) in the municipality of Talavera for subprojects funded under the Additional Financing 2 (AF-2) of the I-REAP Component.

Engineers and technical officers of the Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO 3) convene with the members of the Valle Multipurpose Cooperative to assess the viability of their proposed subproject.

Meanwhile, Bantug Agricultural Multi-purpose Cooperative (BAMC) also had a consultation with the Social and Environmental Safeguards (SES) to discuss other issues and engage the beneficiaries in planning and participation with regard to project development.

The proposed Onion Postharvest Services, Consolidation, and Marketing Enterprise is among the pipelined I-REAP subprojects in the region to be funded under the AF-2.

The team has oriented the PG and consulted them if there are issues and concerns that are needed to be tackled on the proposed I-REAP subproject. This is to uphold transparency and accountability as well as to enhance capabilities in managing the enterprise.

Proponent consultation and validation are among the regular activities which are part of the DA-PRDP’s guidelines to ensure that beneficiaries were informed and conformed with the proposed subproject.
