I-REAP 4A visits proposed hatchery in Rosario, Batangas
Technical staff from Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO) CALABARZON I-REAP Component visited and led the site and Proponent Group (PG) validation of the group Batangas Egg Producers Association (BaEPA) in Rosario, Batangas on November 16, 2021.
During the site visit, Rural Infrastructure Engineer (RIE) Jerome Fabrero expects the implementation to follow through after the proposal of the hatchery is presented to the board.
“Kahit may mga iilang findings, maganda ‘yung proposal, maganda ‘yung presented classifications, ‘yung methodology kung paano nila gagawin, very technical for an agricultural system, and sa tingin ko, once na mapunta na ito sa business planning part, the implementation will just follow through,” Engineer Fabrero said.
In partnership with the DA-PRDP, the proposed hatchery of BaEPA will allow poultry farms in South Luzon to have a nearer source of day-old chicks, especially if there are calamities, emergencies, and quarantines taking place in other provinces.
Apart from the site validation directed by the I-REAP team along with other DA-PRDP officers, staff from the Provincial Government of Batangas were present during the activity for the cooperation of both parties, in terms of documentary compliances and requirements for the approval of the project.
A continuous coordination and collaboration between the DA-PRDP, Batangas PLGU, and BaEPA is promised to ensure a smooth endorsement of the project.
Other DA-PRDP staff present in the assembly were RPCO 4A Rural Infrastructure Engineer (RIE) Jerwin Bituin; M&E Unit Officers MJ Gonzaga at Gideon Hernandez; Social and Environmental Safeguards (SES) Officer Janine Vicente; GIS Data Officer Carlo Dorado; and InfoACE Project Development Associate (PDA) Eli Ocial.
