Subic Bay, ZAMBALES – The Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) in partnership with the Magbukun Agro Eco Ventures, Inc., partner and attached agencies are on the works in developing portions of ancestral domain of the Indigenous People (IPs) situated in Sitio Kanawan, Brgy. Binaritan, Morong Bataan to allow sustainable and inclusive growth for a better quality of life.

This was revealed during the second meeting of the team spearheaded by the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office III (DA-RFO 3) which was attended by officials from various local government units, national agencies and private institutions held on January 29, 2021 at the Red Cross Logistic Center, here.

DA RFO 3 Regional Executive Director Crispulo G. Bautista Jr. expressed his gratitude for the presence and collaborative efforts of the participants who play significant roles in this project.

“I hope in this second meeting we will be able to formulate a single plan that we will be implemented under the ‘One DA Strategy.’ Bautista added.

Specifically, the proposed project under the DA-PRDP is a farm-to-market road (FMR) that is seen to open further opportunities to indigenous communities.

The Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO 3) led by Action Officer Gil G. David will coordinate with Glenn Villaroman of the Products Planters Inc. to map out the proposed road plan and consider food production areas, access roads and climate change impacts.

Just recently, on January 21, 2021, the Provincial Project Management and Implementing Unit (PPMIU) Head – Engineer Alexander M. Baluyot together with technical staff of the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) and officials from the Municipality of Morong led by Cynthia Estanislao conducted a site validation to determine the current status of the proposed subproject.

On the other hand, DA Planning Monitoring and Evaluation Division Chief Arthur Dayrit urged the support of the group and facilitated a forum in conferring strategies and crafting of a time table of activities relative to the implementation of projects likewise the creation of a Technical Working Group (TWG) to focus on the operations each department’s functions.

The DA-PRDP is bent on improving the country’s economy by providing better quality roads for farmers use in the transport of products to market towns or production areas among recipient communities. (MA. REINA LEN G. LUNA, RPCO3 InfoACE)
