The Regional Project Coordination Office 2 (RPCO2) has 394 million pesos, the highest amount which is 57% in terms of the total cost of completed subprojects from November 2017 to May 2018,” Engr. Roy M. Abaya, Project Director, PRDP PSO-Luzon A Cluster said during the Plenary Session of the 6th World Bank Implementation and Support Mission on May 29, 2018, at Hotel Venezia, Subic, Zambales.

“As of May 15, 2018, the cluster has twenty-eight (28) completed subprojects amounting to 694.6 million pesos, registering a 161% increase in the amount of completed subprojects in the I-BUILD portfolio, compared to twelve (12) completed subprojects which amount to 266 million pesos during the last World Bank Mission,” he furthered.

Included in the completed subprojects in RPCO2 are Olango-Siempre Viva-Manano, Magassi-Union-Camasi Farm-to-Market Roads (FMR), Dairy Processing Plant in Mallig, National Road Junction (NRJ) Maria-Gabriela, NRJ-Ligaya-Villa Pagaduan, NRJ Palacian-Ramos and Provincial Road Junction (PRJ)-Dibibi-Dingasan FMRs in Isabela and Quirino respectively.

Meanwhile, seventy-five (75) approved I-BUILD subprojects in Luzon A Cluster are ongoing amounting to 3.72 billion pesos or 73% of the approved I-BUILD subprojects, with RPCO2 having 28% in the portfolio.

Dir. Abaya said that there is a 32% increase in the cumulative disbursement of the North Luzon Cluster, from 1.1 billion pesos last November 2017 to 1.5 billion pesos as of May 15, 2018, and RPCO2 has 39% or 571.9 million pesos, the highest share in terms of cost in this mission’s portfolio.

For I-REAP subprojects, RPCO2 has increased by 41% based on the total approved cost and has a 6% increase based on the number of approved subprojects from 5th to 6th Mission.

Abaya also said that in terms of cost, start-up enterprise subprojects had the highest share of 43%, while restoration and rehabilitation subprojects still had the highest number.

He further said that the Rapid Appraisal of Emerging Benefits (RAEB) of Palay Production Enterprise with emphasis on land preparation in Lal-lo, Cagayan Valley, and Farm Mechanization Service Facilities in Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur and La Union, the four (4) completed enterprise subprojects yielded positive results. (Ferdinand N.
