San Agustin, Pili, Camarines Sur – To orient the local government units (LGUs) on the newly developed LGU commodity investment plan (CIP) module in the PRDP web-based monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system, the Bicol Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO) spearheaded the CIP module orientation and M&E encoding session on April 25–26. Here, PRDP National Project Coordination Office (NPCO) M&E Specialist Joel Bacorro and South Luzon Project Support Office (PSO) Management Information System Officer Perseverando Sinogba facilitated the training.

The new CIP will be mainstreamed in the Department of Agriculture to help monitor and fast track the investments generated from the Provincial Commodity Investment Plans (PCIPs). It targets to facilitate the monitoring of the interventions from the PRDP and the proposed, funded, and implemented projects of other agencies.

“I am really grateful that I was able to attend this training, at least I was able to gain knowledge on the information technology side and update the existing commodity [plan] in our province. We promise to use this module to help monitor our CIPs,” PPMIU Masbate representative Graciana Tagnipez said.

The results of the encoded CIPs from the different provinces were immediately counted and reported by the end of the session. Albay encoded one CIP, while Camarines Norte  finished 26 but still has nine remaining projects to be encoded for cocogeonets. Camarines Sur, on the other hand, encoded 42 CIPs, while Catanduanes is still updating its 90 CIPs. Masbate was able to encode eight projects and will still encode 10 more projects for live goats, while Sorsogon has 75 projects that are on the process of data cleansing. Moreover, Naga City has encoded 29 projects and will encode 13 more projects for the pili commodity.

The next CIP module updating is scheduled on July 5–6, 2017. ### (Michelle Angela G. Alfigura,DA-PRDP RPCO V InfoACE Unit)
