Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) Mindanao cluster recently held a one week joint technical review (JTR) for Mindanao’s proposed subprojects under the infrastructure development or IBUILD component.

A total of 46 subprojects had undergone the JTR with first batch from Region 11 composed of 10 IBUILD proposals. Other regions presented their proposals on the following days with Region 9 having 6 SPs; Region 10 with 15 SPs; Region 12 with 4 SPs; Region 13 with 5SPs; and ARMM with 7 SPs.

It is another milestone taken by PRDP as its infrastructure subproject proposals are on the verge of completion since the technical review will be the last stage before its final submission to the National Project Coordination Office (NPCO).

A review team from NPCO, Project Support Office (PSO), and Regional Project Coordination Office carefully reviewed all the submitted documents to ensure that all proposed SPs have completed documents and complied with all the Project’s requirement before the NPCO will issue the No Object Letter (NOL1).

The proposals included were farm-to-market-road (FMR), FMR with bridges, potable water system and other infrastructure development to be implemented in different regions in Mindanao.

“This joint technical review is one of our strategies to hasten our review process and hopefully we will see these proposals being realized in each region in the coming days,” said DA Regional Director Ricardo Oňate.

The infrastructure development component aims to improve linkages from production areas to market and to enhance the efficiency of transporting agricultural product. IBUILD also aims for higher productivity as a result of increased cropping intensity and yields, food security and improved health from readily available potable water and lower postharvest losses resulting in higher volume of outputs and more efficient support facilities. ### (Joy Montecalvo/ PSO Mindanao)
